5 Indestructible Dog Toys
by Kyle Larson
Our dog Toby is a chewer. If you throw him a ball, he’s more likely to bring it back and chew on it than to drop it at your feet to chase it again. All that chewing means he tends to go through toys quickly and finding indestructible dog toys is really important.
There isn’t much out there that is truly an indestructible dog toy, but this list has some toys that will at least stand a chance against your chewer. Always be sure to keep an eye on the toy’s condition and get rid of them if they start breaking down.
The Buster Cube can be filled with food or treats and your dog can roll it around to release them. This toy is pretty simple on the outside and hard to destroy, the only place our dog has gotten into this is via the dispensing hole. If you glue it down you can still add food by shaking it around and they won’t be able to pull it out and wreck it.
Kong dog toys are great. This is the Classic Kong Toy for putting treats in. Its made of thick rubber and will usually take a long time for the dog to wear it out.
Nylabones come in a variety of shapes and flavors and have excellent durability making them nearly indestructible dog toys. Some popular Nylabones include the Nylabone Dinosaur Chew Toy, Nylabone Wishbone Chew Toy, and the Nylabone Dura Chew Bone.
Our dog will tear right through a tennis ball, but ChuckIt! Balls are great for fetch and are much tougher dog balls made with rubber. You can also get a Chuckit! Launcher, which makes them easier to pickup and throw (although it’ll come with a standard tennis ball, so make sure to get the rubber versions as well).
The Monster Mouth is a great toy that takes some effort to get a treat out of. Our dog has been playing with this for a long time and has just barely made some cracks in it.
