Today the Shih Tzu is the 20th most popular dog breed in the United States. Weighing in at 10-19 lbs, the Shih Tzu is considered a toy breed. But don’t let their small size fool you. These dogs are active, outgoing and alert, often acting much larger than their size.
Remarkably, the breed most likely originated in Tibet thousands of years ago and was later developed in China, where it was affectionately called a “lion dog.” (Speaking of which, “Lion” is a cool name idea for a Shih Tzu!)

I’m about to have a dog. First I’m trying to convince my dad because he is easier to convince what I haven’t done is convinced my mom she is hard to convince and once she makes up her mind you can’t change it!! Please make a video on how to convince your parents to get a dog. Almost all my friends have dogs and cats, but I have no pet! PLEASE make a video on how to convince your parents to get a puppy because I can play with him/her in my spare time rather than reading or watching tv. 🐶🦮🐕
I’ve had 4 Shih Tzus over the last 22 years, called Chaplin, Presley, Brando and now Harlowe. Each one has had their own distinctive personality but all were/are loving, loyal fur babies. A fabulous breed!

I just convinced my parents to get me a dog, but now I have to find a name and my sister doesn’t like ANY of the ones I pick, she is still stuck on Chewbacca(From Star Wars) cause our cat’s name is Han Solo, I want to name it piper, but I’m not 110% sure
I had a Shih-tzu for several years. I miss her so much, her name was Trinka. My aunt had a dog named that once and I really liked the name, don’t know how she came across it. It was a cute, elegant name that suited the breed.
